ForbesToday’s NYT ‘Connections’ Tips and Answers for Sunday, August 18 (#434)

Hey, people! I hope you had a great weekend and are ready for what I’m sure will be a great week.

of today NYT Connections suggestions and answers are coming right away.

How to play the links

Connections is a free, popular New York Times daily word game. You get a new puzzle at midnight every day. You can play in NYT the Games website or app.

You are presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to arrange them into four groups of four by finding the connections between them. Groups can be things like clickable articles, names for research study participants, or words preceded by a body part.

There is only one solution to each puzzle and you will need to be careful when it comes to words that can fit into more than one category. You can mix the words to perhaps help you see the connections between them.

Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to understand, the blue and green fall in between, and the purple group is usually the hardest. The purple group often includes puns.

Choose four words that you think go together and press submit. If you make a guess and are incorrect, you will lose a life. If you’re close to making a correct set, you may see a message telling you that you’re just one word away from getting it right, but you’ll still need to figure out which one to switch.

If you make four mistakes, it’s game over. Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen with the help of some tips and, if you’re really struggling, today Connections answers. How about me Wordle and other similar games, it’s easy to share scores with your friends on social media and group chats.

This is your last warning!

of today Connections the answers are…

  • Yellow group – music genres (BLUES, COUNTRY, FOLK, ROCK)
  • Green group – bratwurst go-withs (BRAT, BUN, MUSTARD, SAUERKRAUT)
  • Blue group – yoga poses (CHAIR, MOUNTAIN, TREE, WARRIOR)
  • Purple Group — starting with Pixar movies (COCONUT, SOULMATE, UPDO, WALLET)

I thought I was going to get back to winning ways after my 26-game winning streak came to a halt yesterday, but unfortunately not.

I got the greens and yellows pretty quickly. But I had no idea about the blue or purple group. I don’t know enough about yoga to understand the blue group. And I felt that the purple set was a bit too complicated to understand, as much as I love a lot of Pixar movies (Wall-E is an all-time mining favorite).

That’s all there is for today Connections data and response. Be sure to check my blog for hints and the walkthrough for Tuesday’s game if you need them.

PS If somehow you haven’t seen it Wall-EI recommend you fix it as soon as possible:
